Despite being twins, Brent and Brian Ford took very different paths in life before coming together to form their own company, FordCom Wireless.
Brian went college after high school, graduated with a business degree, and excelled at building businesses. Brent started climbing towers right out of high school, and worked his way up the ladder to crew lead, construction manager, and finally project manager. He built hundreds of raw-land sites and installed components on thousands of existing sites. Both Brian and Brent displayed a strong work ethic and a desire to lead.
“Although we had different paths, we are a lot alike,” Brian told Inside Towers. “Brent has a need to hustle that has driven him to excel in the field, working those 20-hour days. I have had a good business preparation, as far as leadership, strategic sales, and scaling businesses in different industries, including telecom and data software.
A Company is Born
In 2018, the brothers brought their skill sets together to form FordCom Tower Service LLC, now known as FordCom Wireless, providing construction, installation, and infrastructure development. The company’s headquarters is in the brothers’ hometown of East Palestine, OH. It sits almost equidistant between two major population centers, Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers, and Cleveland, home of the Browns.
Brian handles sales and administration as the Chief Executive Officer, and Brent heads up field operations as the Chief Operations Officer. “It’s a natural fit for our complementary strengths,” he said.
