Civil Technician Apprentice
FordCom does not require prior experience. The only requirement is a passion to learn and a strong work ethic. We offer initial and ongoing on-the-job training in our Apprentice Program. You will determine your success. And we will help every way we can. You must also be able to pass a new hire drug test, have a clean driving record, and pass a pre-employment physical. Civil Technicians are responsible for performing general repair and maintenance on communications sites (shelters, land, and ground-based structures). This position does not require climbing. This position involves daily travel. The individual will be expected to assist the Wireless civil foreman in all aspects of planning, prepping, and executing projects for building new sites.

Position Overview
– Operate various hand and power tools
– Install, connect, and test underground and above ground grounding systems
– Moderate flat-work concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
– Carpentry and miscellaneous trade skills
– Landscaping, grading, and fencing, as necessary
– Load/unload trucks, haul and hoist materials
– Operate light equipment (mini excavator, skid loader)
Qualifications
– Valid driver’s license with good driving record
– Background and MVR check
– Pass drug test and pre-employment physical
– Achieve and maintain required certifications and training
– Telecom or construction experience preferred but will provide on the job training as needed
– Commercial/residential electrical experience preferred
– Ability to read blueprints, details, and specifications
– Cald-weld or other thermos-weld training a plus
